Agave

A striking architectural plant the agave family of plants very from green to blueish in tone. They can have smooth leaves or leaves with sharp teeth or very spear like tips.

Native to Mexico these plants are slow growers indoor and can grow two to three feet wide.

Due to their sharp thorns and / or tips it is best to keep these plants away from inquisitive pets and children. In the spring through fall these plants can be moved outdoor to bring greenery to your terrace.

They thrive best in bright direct south facing light and should be not be placed in direct lint of contract with air conditioning/ heating vents to prevent tip burn.

Depending on where the plant is placed it may dry out quicker and require more frequent watering, if in doubt it is better to underwater than overwater. The humidity in the room and the time of year in addition to the AC/ Heating are all factors that vary from home to home and affect individual plant's watering needs.

Start by watering once a month approx 6 ounces of water. Insert finger into the soil approx an inch down and feel the moisture level. If it feels moist a month after watering wait a few days and check again. Once the soil feels dry water again.
